Frequently Asked Questions

Are you always wondering what to do with an old pair of jeans, or bag, or any other clothing item that is not fashionable anymore? And you also do not want to throw them away ? No problem! Almost any clothing item can be brought back to the nowadays standards by using our patches. We will even teach you how to iron them, to give them a vintage look, or a new one, it is your choice after all.

How do Iron On my patch?

Do NOT use on un-ironable fabrics (low melting point) such as nylons, vinyl's, or leathers. Iron may scorch leathers and suedes.

1. Pre-wash all materials without fabric softeners.

2. Preheat iron to medium heat. Make sure the "steam" option is turned off. On heat-seal machine 175 C /cotton/ maximum pressure.

3. Place the patch on garment glue side down (peel the protective paper first).

4. Cover with thin white cloth or towel, we recommend silicon paper (backing paper).

5. With home iron, keep the pressure on for 35-45 seconds; 25 seconds for the heat-sealing machine on a hard surface, Do NOT run iron, Hold in one spot for some time! Big patches please start pressing from the centre to the edges of a patch. After this please press once again edges of a patch - about 5 sec.

6. Let cool, then turn garment inside-out and iron on the reverse side for 15 seconds.

7. Laundry Instructions-Turn shirt inside-out. Cold wash, Gentle cycle, Drip dry. Do NOT put the garment in the dryer! Do NOT bleach. First washing of the pressed patch can take place after 48 hrs. Give a few stitches on the patch edge to keep it for a long time.

Please pay attention to all plastic elements in a nearby of a patch-hot iron may damage them!!!

Patches can be sewn onto fabric or garments with a single or double stitch. If adherence is not perfect, please repeat action step 5 and 6

What means Iron-On adhesive backing?

It's a thin layer of glue on the back of the patch that allows you to iron it in place! The patches are sent with a protective paper over the glue to stop them accidentally sticking to anything during transit, and I do still recommend you sew the patches on as well - a few stitches by hand usually hold well with the glued patches.

What is the patches size?

All patches have their sizes listed in the description, but if you are unsure of fitting please send us a message and we can provide a comparison.

The sizes are given in millimetre and inches.

We are also happy to resize a patch if it is too small or too large for your purposes.

Can be personalized or customised order?

We LOVE doing custom patches, if you have something in mind then please send us your idea, possible colours or materials, an idea of the size you would want it and if possible an image of what you have in mind would be great!

All of our pieces can be customised, colours changed etc let us know before you purchase and we can send you a quote.

We can't wait to hear what you have planned

How do you estimate the embroidery coverage? What is the difference between 50%, 75%, and 100% embroidery coverage?

We estimate the embroidery coverage by checking your design’s details, size and colours. 50% embroidery means 50% or less of the surface area will be embroidered in thread. 75% embroidery means more than 50% but less than 100% of the surface area will be embroidered in thread. 100% embroidery means the entire patch will be embroidered in thread.

What is the difference between iron backing and adhesive backing?

The adhesive backing can be attached to the cloth directly by peeling off the paper. Patches with adhesive backing cannot be washed in a washing machine. Iron backing is stronger and needs to be attached to the patch with an electronic iron or iron machine.

Can I see a mock-up of my design before I go ahead with an order?

We only create artwork once you have completed your order online or if you have accepted a quote and the payment is done. You have unlimited revisions and we won't go to production until you have approved. This is for two reasons:

1. So we have a point of reference on our system for the various departments.

2. FREE artwork creation is a service we offer as part of our package. Unfortunately, we cannot offer FREE artwork creation for enquiries, it would just drain our resources.

Worse-case scenario (and we hope this would never happen) if you really disliked the artwork we created for you after unlimited revisions, you could just cancel with no obligation to proceed.
